Sort Out sewage escapes rapidly

When toilet or shower drains pipes show drainage backup, you must instantly ask for expert help. This sewage will contain bugs so it should be cleaned at once and your plumbing system should be repaired so as to prevent it from happening again.

As an immediate measure whilst waiting for help, use one cup bleaching agent in every five gallons of water to clean up the area while you await the plumber. While doing so, don’t forget to wear eye wear, boots, gloves and long trousers, older people, pets and children should be kept away. Cleanse your hands later on with warm clean water and soap. Now the question is that how can you prevent sewerage overflow during the problem? Well you can do so by not allowing too much water to go into the drains.

Sewerage back flow can happen if something has stopped the waste line or if there is some clog between the toilet and shower in the pipework. Either way, your clear priority should be to prevent your family from exposure to disease causing bacteria.

drainage exposure can cause a number of symptoms like fever with chills, diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain. Seek medical attention right away if you go through any of these symptoms.

All objects contaminated by the drainage, including kids’s play items, should be disinfected by mixing one cup of odorless household bleach for every five gallons of water. Not only should you throw away food that came in contact with the drainage, but also items than cannot be washed or cleaned (such as mattresses, stuffed animals, baby toys, and food cutting boards).

You can use a plumbers snake if the drainage back up is in shower area. For such drains and pipe joints in close proximity, a quarter-inch snake of 25 feet length will work fine. It will move more easily through the line. Sometimes in a bathroom the shower trap gets plugged but at the same time the toilet remains unaffected. The reason is that the typical shower drain is installed level with the floor whereas the toilet trap is typically 6 inches above the flooring level.

If you are unable to clear this backflow yourself, you must call in professional plumbers. Plumbers will be able to find the choke and clear the backflow thoroughly as they have specialist tools and experience in this problem. Unless you know what you are doing when you try to do your own plumbing fixes, it is generally wise to let the experts handle it to begin with.
