Drain system problems you should ward off

The purpose of drainage pipes is to expel the discharge coming out from the home and direct it into the septic or sewer tanks. In sewer systems from houses, pipes are laid in between inspection chambers. The entire sewer system must be constructed in such a way that it has the ability to self cleanse without developing blockages. This goal can be attained only if you adopt the right construction gradients to allow water to flow through the system. UPVC tubing is mainly used in the system. Once laying has been carried out, it is vital to test the system fully before putting it into commission. This must be carried out between the inspection chambers.

It is necessary to install drainage pipes in trenches. Depth averages between thirty and fifty centimeters. Concrete structure is built to shield the system in case there is a walkway, parking zone or driveway above it. Removing the earth to the appropriate levels is important before the inception of the work. The grading must be done near the sewers or the tank. The slope should be in the ratio of one is to four. Ensure that the bottom of every trench is well rammed to get a uniformly compacted surface. Use pegs to set the levels in the trench bottoms.

Maintaining straight lines is essential while laying down the drainage pipes. The pipes should be connected with sockets leading uphill or in the direction of the building. The ground on which the systems lies should be even and solid. In order to connect the female and male sockets, it is necessary to employ a first-rate adhesive which will last. Make sure that you follow all the instructions for the adhesive, as specified by the manufacturer. At the joint of the pipe and inspection chamber, the pipe must be fixed properly upto the full wall thickness of the chamber. The drainpipes should be kept free of foreign matter.

When laying the drainpipes, they should be thoroughly inspected. This is done to avoid using punctured pipes which will leak over time. All socket recesses have to be adequately formed in the foundation. Keep them short where possible. The two ends of inspection chambers- for entry and exit- must be evenly finished to the proper slope. The system is then buried beneath soil when all the joints have been finished and checked. Make the final connections to the sewer or septic tank. To complete the procedure, create a connection between the drainage system and the utilities’ supply.
