I have a Hotpoint FFS70 Fridge freezer drainage hole is blocked. Tried EVERYTHING to unblock. No joy. Help!

I have to soak up the water every single day from the fridge. I can live with this, at a pinch, however we are due to go away on holiday within the next couple of months and I don’t want to come back to my kitchen swimming in water. It’s either repair or buy new. Has anyone else had this problem and have you managed to resolve it?

How do I know what part of my drainage system is blocked?

It seems that everywhere I put bucketfuls of water, ie washing machine and flushing toilet it is blocked.
Could it be something outside my house, ie council issues, as I’ve poured lots of caustic soda down there and it seems clear but it drains slow.
My friend also told me sometimes the trees can get into the system??? O_O

Fridge drain blocked. again! Any ideas on why? and preventing more of the same?

Hi all, I have a Samsung 280lt standard 2 door freezer on top of fridge. About a year old for my new apartment. 4 months after I bought it, it starting leaking water from the air vent. Called a repairman. He showed me that the drainage was blocked inside. He chipped out the ice and poured some hot water down. All good.

Now, 8 months later, same problem! Knowing what he did last time, I’m guessing I can probably fix it myself by turning off the fridge for a while (2 days be enough you think?) and let it thaw out into the pan.

Problem is… it’s annoying!!! Is it a problem with the fridge you think? Or something to do with the conditions of my house? I keep the temp pretty warm in here. And I tend to… Read more of this >>>
